Unionized workers have higher wages, better benefits and a voice on the job for better workplaces and safe working conditions. People in unions promote consistent schedules with no mandatory overtime. They advocate for paid vacation time and the ability to use it without guilt or an overwhelming workload upon return.
With many Starbucks workers attempting to unionize, we have a space in our everyday lives where we can see and support these efforts up close. I encourage everyone to head out to a location near by. Order your coffee with the name "Union Strong" to let them know you stand with them.

In the words of the Starbucks organizers:
"Starbucks is the leader in the coffee industry, and one of the most successful companies in the world. We want to share in that success, and we want to have a voice in determining what that looks like for us. We think there is a disconnect between corporate and us. The company says that partners come first, but all too often puts large shareholders above all else."
